Mission Statement

The following mission statement is taken from the official Constitution, as amended, January 16, 1998.

The purpose of the Center is to encourage and fund original research primarily in the philosophy, logic, and methodology of science by its Members, Fellows, and collaborators, and to publish some of the results of such research in its series, Minnesota Studies in the Philosophy of Science. To this end, Members of the Center

edit Minnesota Studies
conduct research workshops open to interested faculty and students
organize research institutes, conferences, and lectures
maintain a reference library
appoint research fellows
seek funds to support these programs
